Evaluation os some Parameters Influencing the Properties of UV Curable Coatings
UV curable organic-inorganic hard-coats, containing functionalized nanosized silica dispersed inorganic solvents, can be used to provide, plastic substrates with abrasion and chemical resistance. We have investigated the influence of some parameters that influence the properties of the cured coatings. In order to optimize abrasion resistance, the p
Substituted Cyclopropenium Salts - Photochemical and Thermal Reactions - Mechanistic Investigations
Cyclopropenium salts have attracted considerable attention since they represent the smallest two-rr-electron Huckel aromatic systems. Since the first cyclopropenium ion, triphenylcyclopropenium (TPCP), was 4 numerous others have been 5 and their reactions have received considerable 6 The only report on the photochemistry of triphenylcyclopropenium
Waterbased UV-Curable Urethane-Acrylate Clearcoats
Waterbased systems are commonly used in the coating industry because of environmentalconcerns and they are becoming increasingly popular, even in a solvent-free technology Iike UVradiation curing. Indeed, by taking water to reduce the formulation viscosity one avoids the odor and irritation problems inherent to the use of acrylic reactive diluents.
Paper Requirements for UV-Printing
Paper is a very complex material, especially coated grades. It's not just fibres, but also a lot of other components like calcium carbonate latex binders, optical bleaching agents and a variety of chemistry which is necessary for the paper making and coating process. In each stage of the printing and finishing process different paper problems
A New Onium Salt for Cationic Curing of White Pigmented Expoxy Formulations
Abstract: a new cationic photoinitiátor, 4-isobutylphenyl-4'-methylphenyliodonium hexafluorophosphate (Dl-3), exhibits very high efficiency in the UV-curing of thick -pigmented coatings. 1-chloro-4-propoxythioxanthone was found to be superior to isopropylthioxanthone as a sensitizer. Application results are discussed.
Water Transport and Dissushion in Radiation Cured Coatings and Adhesives
Water absorption and diffusion in UV-cured polymer films were monitored and correlated with UVcurable resin composition and cured film's glass transition temperature. A spectroscopic method for the real-time, direct monitoring of acid and water diffusion in polymer films and coatings was developed. The method was used to monitor water diffusion in
Coupling Chain Lenght Dependent Termination (CLDT) and Reaction Diffusion Controlled Termination (RDCT) in the Free Radical Polymerization of Multifunctional (Meth)Acrylates
Multivinyl monomers are photopolymerized to produce highly crosslinked networks with theadvantages of both a solventless system and a process that can be carried out under ambientconditions. Ideally, a priori knowledge of how changing cure conditions impact highly crosslinkedsystems is preferred. However, under most photopolymerization conditions,
UV curing for everybody
UV curing as a method for polymerising liquids, resins and solids at the push of a button is usedpredominantly for producing decorative, protective or information-carrying surfaces, i.e. for coatings and prints. If this method is also capable of giving high-quality products economically and in an compatible manner, the corresponding products
