Fluorinated surfactants are an indispensable tool for UV-coatings due to their unique ability
to reduce surface tension leading to unparalleled wetting, leveling and hydrophobic surfaces.
Recent health and environmental concerns of long-chain perfluorinated surfactants in regard
to their bioaccumulation and toxicity resulted in intensive research and development activities
to search for a new generation of fluorosurfactants. The biggest challenge is synthesizing
more environmentally friendly fluorosurfactants without sacrificing their unique properties.

Recently, we announced a new range of fluorinated surfactants made from very short
perfluoro chains (C2-C3), which show equivalent or even superior performance to existing
longer chain products making these new surfactants a more environmentally friendly
alternative, capable of the desired performance.
