n the year 1974 the founder of iie, Mr. Ekkehard Kreß worked as a free-lance design engineer on electronic lamp ballasts. Milestones of his developments were:
-1976 the first commercial battery ballast for 200W HMI (portable reporter lamp)
-1978 1200W HMI lamp ballast (introduction at the Photokina 1978)
-1983 microprocessor controlled 1200W HMI lamp ballast
In the year 1984 Mr. Ekkehard Kress founded the iie company with two employees. One year later iie started the development and production of 3500W discharging lamp supplies for YAG CW laser. This is still the second part of core business in addition to the electronic lamp ballast. In 1996 the main business is the development and production of power supplies for laser systems and power sources for UV lamps from 3 up to 6kW.
