Radiation curing has long since conquered the packaging industry.
Plastic and metal lids are decorated by the letterset (dry offset) printing process and
dried with IA or cured by UV radiation.
Plastic squeeze tubes, rigid tubes and vials are printed, overvarnished and dried or
cured by radiation.
Plastic cups and tubes are decorated at speeds of 500 pieces per minute and then
radiation cured.
Heat, lR, UV and Electron Beam radiation are used to cure layers of inks and
lacquers. In this paper various radiation application methods will be discussed for the
curing of inks, lacquers and varnishes.
