Radiation curable silicone release agents are established commercial products
with an expanding share of the silicone release coating market. UV curable silicone
systems based on cationic photocrosslinking technology consist of cyclohexylepoxyfunctional
polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) plus compatible iodonium photocatalysts (1-4).
The polymers are produced by hydrosilation addition of 4-vinylcyclohexeneoxide
(VCHO) to preformed SiH-functional PDMS, as shown below:
