Introduction

We all know that the resources of our planet are limited,
some of them will be used up within the foreseeable future.
Inorderto relieve our environment, all industrial.
branches are looking for new methods and processes needing
less energy and raw materials as well as not emitting
substances ecologically harmful.

For these reasons the industry was also forced to find new
ways in coating. They put emphasis on the development of
UV (ultra violett) curing systems in order to substitute
conventional solvent-containing systems.

The printing and furniture industry is mostly still using
inks and lacquers containing solvents. The thermal energy
used during the drying process is very high and the volatile
solvents contribute considerably to environmental polution
or result in high investments, if solvent recycling or
burning systems must be installed in order to keep the air
clean (environmental policy).
