For many technical applications it is sufficient that layers of lacquer are hardened
enough to be no longer sticky, inert towards physical or chemical attacks and that
they can be processed without delay.

When using the individual components, the processor of lacquers pays more attention
to the systems drying fast enough or that the lacquer's shine and print are regular.

The residual content of unchanged reaction components is only of minor relevance,
as long as no other problems occur during processing.

However, if packaging materials shall be manufactured for foodstuffs or consumer
goods, already a tiny amount of lacquer components which may migrate into the
wrapped material can be decisive. For this reason, in-depth and extensive analytical
work is necessary to detect these components and their theoretically possible
migration.
