Present and Future Requirements on Furniture Coatings - an End-User Perspective

The health, safety and environmental strategy for use of industrial surface coatings is described from the viewpoint of a large furniture retailer (Ikea). Requirements on chemical content of coatings as well as physical qualities on the coating film are discussed together with the endeavour to replace solventborne coatings with more environmentally friendly alternatives.
