REACH / Uses and Exposure

The central concern of REACH is the safe use of chemical substances with regard to humans and the environment. For each substance the supplier has to determine the risks and to show that these risks can be controlled during the whole life cycle of the substance. That means that all the uses need to be known to the supplier necessitating an effective communication throughout the supply chain. Exposures of these uses have to be determined and if necessary risk measurements are to be applied to reduce them to safe limits.
