State of the Art of Wide-Web UV-Flexo-Printing Presses

Flexographic technology has gone through dramatic developments in recent years. The
development of UV-Flexoprinting on wide-web central cylinder presses was a
significant milestone in these developments in the early 90' s. The first success were
achieved when the German companies Kobusch (Warburg) and Sengewald
(Halle/Westf) switched to UV-inks, and they have been used now in three shift
production since 1992. In the following paper it will be shown, were the specific
problems are and how are they solved. Also some new aspects of running developments
and new ideas for the future are presented.
