The first efficient photoinitiators of the cationic polymerization were aromatic diazonium salts with
anions of low nucleophilicity 1]. However, the poor thermal stabilility of the diazonium salts limits
mainly the use as photoinitiator for cationic systems. Nevertheless, in diazomicro films and printing
plates 2] diazonium salts are thermostable over several months or years.
