RadTech International North America (RTNA) has adopted the following government affairs policy statement: UV/EB teéhnology offers end users of inks, coatings, adhesives and related applications a powerful option to comply with requirements of reduced emissions. However, RadTech recognizes that UV/EB is not a universal solution arid does not recommend or advocate that emission limits be lowered, or that UV/EB be set as the new standard. When a government agency proposes lower environmental emission limits, RadTech will provide technical and end use information to document that UV/EB can meet the proposed standard and will seek recognition of UV/EB as a compliant technology. In doing this, it is the intent to help industry comply with inevitable regulatory demands for lowered VOC emissions. There has never been a pollution regulation set in the United States that UV and EB cannot meet or exceed. Over the last 2-3 years, RadTech International North America has had significant success in getting the word out to regulators about UV and EB Technology. Most recent efforts have been with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) in Southern California, representing (by their own admission) the worst air quality District in the United States.
