RadTech Europe (RTE) is pleased to announce the resounding success of its recent online seminar on Coil Coating with UV/EB energy curing technology, held on October 15-17, 2024. The two-day event brought together 85 participants, including 19 expert speakers, 3 exhibitors, and 61 industry professionals, further solidifying the relevance and growing interest in energy curing technologies for the coil coating industry.

With sustainability and innovation as key themes, the seminar focused on cutting edge advancements in coil coating using radiation curing technologies. Attendees were treated to insightful presentations on topics such as the latest developments in radcure chemistry, sustainable systems for coil coating, and decarbonization strategies.

Key Highlights from the Seminar:

  • Expert Presentations: Industry leaders representing the whole industry chain, resin suppliers, coating formulators, UV and EB equipment manufacturers, integrators, and an end user, delivered thought-provoking sessions on the benefits of UV/EB energy curing technology, sustainable materials, and advanced formulations for coil coatings. A total of 13 presentations spanned both days, offering participants a broad perspective on the technical and commercial impact of these innovations.
  • Panel Discussion: The seminar concluded with a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Paul Kelly (LuxsitUV), featuring experts from companies such as Energy Sciences, Beckers Group, AkzoNobel, Allnex, IST METZ and Arkema. The panelists addressed the challenges and future opportunities of implementing UV/EB energy curing technology in industrial applications, particularly in coil coating.
  • Engagement and Collaboration: Feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the value of learning from leading professionals in the field. The seminar also fostered collaboration between industry players, as demonstrated by the involvement of ECCA, the Coil Coating Association, who showcased their studies during the event.

An initial analysis of the post-seminar survey results revealed high satisfaction rates across the board, with 90% of respondents rating the seminar as "Excellent" or "Very Good." Participants praised the quality of the presentations, the relevance of the content, and the opportunities for networking.

The seminar recordings will be available for all attendees, allowing for ongoing learning and engagement. As RTE continues to push the boundaries of innovation in the UV/EB energy curing industry, plans are already underway for the next major event: the RTE Conference & Exhibition, scheduled for October 27-29, 2025, in Warsaw, Poland, for which the call for papers in currently open.

RTE extends its sincere thanks to the speakers, participants, and sponsors Danieli, Allnex, and Arkema,  who made this seminar a success. We look forward to furthering our mission of promoting sustainable UV/EB curing technologies in its applications.
